Acorn Lodge is just a few hundred yards away from both its award winning blue flag beach and the main shopping area, with a variety of restaurants, shops and pubs.

There are a number of very old buildings and cottages, some dating back 300 years. One of which, originally a farmhouse, is now the 'Hornsea Folk Museum'.

Not far away is the Hornsea Mere, Yorkshire's largest freshwater lake. You can enjoy rowing, fishing, sailing, motor boat trips, and Pitch and Putt. Birdwatchers will be fascinated by the many species that frequent this RSPB nature reserve.

For golfers, Hornsea Golf Club has been described as "the most prestigious Golf Club in the East Riding", an 18 hole, 6,685 yard course. There are numerous other courses all within a short drive. Hornsea Freeport is a 10 minute walk away; a retail outlet village with a good variety of shops.

Honeysuckle Farm is another major attraction, especially for children. It is a family-run working farm, and opened its doors in 1992. Among the many attractions available, there is a play barn for children, as well as a tea room for parents. The farm is approximately 1 mile from Acorn Lodge.
